Thalia é uma adolescente peruana de 16 anos de idade. Desde cedo aprendeu o valor do trabalho decente e graças a isso tem sido capaz de sustentar a sua família, pagar pelos seus estudos e aspira a estudar na universidade. É membro do Movimento Latino-Americano e Caribenho de Crianças e Trabalhadores Adolescentes (MOLACNATS). Há três anos que participa em espaços de advocacia como o orçamento participativo na sua comunidade, mas este ano deu um grande salto em frente ao levar a voz das raparigas da região à Comissão das Nações Unidas sobre o Estatuto da Mulher (CSW65).
Durante a CSW65, Thalia participou na sessão “CSW65: Girls Talking Circle”, organizada pelo Grupo de Trabalho sobre Meninas e Mulheres da ONU, juntamente com mais de 100 meninas e adolescentes de todo o mundo. O objectivo deste círculo de diálogo era ampliar as vozes das raparigas e aumentar a sua visibilidade no fórum Geração Igualdade, assegurando a sua liderança e participação nos processos políticos a nível local, nacional e global.
Durante a sessão, Thalia salientou que os Estados devem proteger os direitos das raparigas e adolescentes trabalhadoras e proporcionar-lhes espaços de participação, e que deve ser dada prioridade à segurança das raparigas e adolescentes nas suas casas e nos espaços públicos. Finalmente, assinalou que o investimento público na educação das raparigas e adolescentes deve ser aumentado.
Thalia pôde também falar no evento de alto nível “Beyond the Shadow Pandemic: Preventing and Responding to Adolescent Girls’ Risks and Experiences of Gender-Based Violence”, organizado pela Save the Children e pela Women’s Refugee Commission. No seu discurso, falou do impacto que a pandemia teve na vida de raparigas e adolescentes: violência doméstica, violência no trabalho e em espaços públicos; sindicatos precoces; barreiras no acesso a serviços públicos como a saúde sexual e reprodutiva; dificuldade em estudar devido à falta de Internet e de equipamento tecnológico….
Thalia é uma adolescente que não só está consciente das questões que afectam as raparigas e adolescentes, mas também propõe soluções a partir da sua perspectiva como rapariga trabalhadora. “Na recuperação da economia, deve ser garantido trabalho decente para rapazes, raparigas e adolescentes, para que não sofram assédio e exploração e para que o pagamento seja justo sem fazer diferenças porque são raparigas e mulheres. Sobre a questão da educação, devemos garantir o acesso à Internet e uma educação sexual abrangente com enfoque no género nas escolas”, propôs ela.
Thalia ficou muito orgulhosa e feliz por participar na representação da voz das raparigas em ambos os espaços. “Penso que é importante que as raparigas participem, para que os adultos e as autoridades possam ouvir-nos e conhecer a realidade do ponto de vista das crianças trabalhadoras. Se estão à procura do nosso bem, têm de nos ter em conta”, disse ela.
“Penso que é importante que raparigas de todo o mundo tenham participado no evento [la Comisión sobre el Estatus de la Mujer]. Quero agradecer às organizações porque o evento foi muito frutuoso, uma vez que reuniu a experiência de muitas raparigas e retiro como lição que a participação infantil deve continuar”.

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.
